This evening while Rebecca and I were preparing dinner, the kids were downstairs playing pirates. They seemed to be playing really well, so I was a little hesitant to break things up when it was time for Ethan (6) to set the table. When I did go down, Ethan was tied up on top of one of those big plastic kids cars that has the high top. He was laying face down arched over the top with a couple karate belts keeping him lashed to the roof. Julia and Christian were pushing from behind and I think Elliott might have been inside. When I asked what they were saying, they told me that Ethan was the lookout for the pirate boat.
Ethan is my superhero today for taking the tough job in the game of pirates.
